London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Premier League action will reconvene on Saturday with the latest installment of the north London derby as Tottenham prepares to host Arsenal at White Hart Lane.
Both clubs arrive at the weekend in good form as Tottenham has dropped just one match from its last nine league outings, while Arsenal has won eight of its last 11.
The two sides, both of which are attempting to sneak into the final Champions League berth, are separated by just two points in the table, but it is Arsenal that has been slightly more impressive of late.
The Gunners, entering the weekend in fifth place with 42 points, shockingly have not conceded a goal in their last three Premier League matches, claiming a 3-0 defeat of Stoke City and a 2-0 win at Manchester City before cruising past Aston Villa in a 5-0 rout at the Emirates.
But even with the impressive momentum, Arsenal will be without one of its key cogs. Alexis Sanchez, largely considered to be the club's best player this term, did not feature in Arsenal's thrashing of Villa last weekend due to a slight hamstring injury, but the Chilean has not yet fully recovered and will miss the trip to White Hart Lane.
That may bode well for a Tottenham side that has collected six wins from its last eight league outings - including a tremendous victory over Chelsea on New Year's Day - but Arsenal still has plenty of offensive weapons capable of finding the back of the net.
Santi Cazorla has rounded into form in recent weeks while Olivier Giroud continues to lead the line with great aplomb. And with Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott coming back from injury with goals against Villa, the Gunners appear to be hitting their stride at the right time.
Another heated rivalry will follow Saturday's clash at White Hart Lane as Liverpool gets set to head to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Merseyside derby.
Everton stole a point from Liverpool when the two sides met at Anfield earlier in the season as Phil Jagielka produced a thunderous equalizer at the death to ensure a 1-1 draw.
The Reds, who have not tasted defeat in league play since a 3-0 loss at Manchester United on Dec. 14, will be out to exact a bit of revenge while extending their unbeaten run to eight games.
Chelsea and Manchester City remain firmly ensconced in a title race following their 1-1 draw last weekend, a result that kept the two sides separated by just five points.
First-place Chelsea will return to action with a road clash at struggling Aston Villa, which has not scored a league goal since a 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Dec. 20.
City, meanwhile, will host lowly Hull City at the Etihad as Steve Bruce's men hope to avoid a fourth straight league defeat.
Leicester City will attempt to snap a two-game slide and climb out of the Premier League cellar on Saturday when the club welcomes Crystal Palace to the KP Stadium, QPR will mark its first game without manager Harry Redknapp when the club takes on Southampton at Loftus Road and Sunderland will travel to the Liberty Stadium to face a Swansea City side fresh off of a defeat of Ronald Koeman's Saints.
Sunday's action will see Manchester United travel to Upton Park to face West Ham United. The Red Devils claimed a narrow 2-1 win when the two sides met at Old Trafford earlier in the campaign, and with West Ham maintaining an outside chance of a spot in Europe next season, the Hammers will be eager to claim a result on home soil.
Burnley will open Sunday's slate with a home fixture against West Bromwich Albion, followed immediately by Stoke City's trip to St. James' Park to face Newcastle.
