Southern Mississippi reinstated senior guard Darnell Dodson to the basketball team Friday, according to a statement released by head coach Larry Eustachy.

Dodson was dismissed from the team last March after pleading guilty to grand larceny charges, but the university's statement said Dodson "has served his suspension with the university, fulfilled all obligations and is eligible to return to campus."

The Greenbelt, Maryland native transferred to Southern Miss from Kentucky last season after averaging 6.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 14.5 minutes in his junior year for the Wildcats.

He is eligible to play immediately for Southern Miss, which hosts Ole Miss on Saturday.
