Arsenal midfielder Alex Song completed his move to Barcelona on Monday after passing a physical and signing a five-year contract with the Catalan side.

Song joins Barca for an undisclosed fee after spending the past seven years with Arsenal, where he appeared in 204 games and scored 10 goals.

The 24-year-old becomes the second big addition this summer for Barca after the signing of Spain international Jordi Alba from Valencia.

After sitting out Arsenal's opener against Sunderland on Saturday, it was announced that the Gunners and Barcelona had agreed to a deal, with Song finalizing the move on Monday.

Barcelona will face Real Madrid in the first leg of the Spanish Supercopa on Thursday before returning to league play against Osasuna on Sunday.
