An amateur soccer match almost turned into a hit-and-run in England.
Twenty-eight-year-old Joseph Rimmer was accused of trying to run over a referee after being kicked out of a game earlier this year, according to Liverpool Echo. He pleaded guilty this week to a minor charge.
After getting booted from the game, Rimmer ran off the field and got into his car and drove it onto the playing field. Referee David Harkness was able to get away from Rimmer's car and was unharmed in the incident, according to the paper.
Rimmer also reportedly got out of the car and shouted threats at the ref before driving away.
