BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) Nick Shafnisky passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more Saturday to lead Lehigh to a 42-21 victory over Penn.
Shafnisky was 24 of 34 for 250 yards and one interception, with scoring passes of 6 and 47 yards to Troy Pelletier and an 8-yarder to Stefan Sansone. Shafnisky had 16 carries for 95 yards, including scoring runs of 3 and 6 yards, and Pelletier made 10 catches for 109 yards.
Gatlin Casey opened the scoring with an 8-yard run for the Mountain Hawks (2-1).
Penn (0-1) replied with a 5-yard TD run by Alek Torgersen on the opening play of the second quarter. Torgersen threw for 336 yards and an interception, with scoring passes of 74 yards to Justin Watson and 45 yards to Christian Pearson.
Lehigh, the Patriot League leader in total offense, finished with 498 yards.
