PARIS (AP) — Top-seeded Serena Williams has reached the second round of the French Open with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 win over Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland.

Williams had 10 aces and three service winners late in the tiebreaker. The 12-time Grand Slam champion also saved three break points late in the first set Monday.

Williams won the title in Paris in 2002 after defeating her sister Venus in the final.
