Semin agrees to one-year extension with the Capitals

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Left wing Alexander Semin has signed a one-year contract extension with the Washington Capitals, the NHL team said Thursday.

Financial terms were not announced by the team, but the league's official website ( reported the deal was worth $6.7 million.

Semin, 26, ranks second in goals (18) and third in points (35) with the Capitals. He shares the NHL lead in hat tricks with three.
