The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin, FOX Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo first reported late Monday.

Rubin, 29, was a sixth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2008. The 2015 season was his first with the Seahawks.

He started all 16 games last season, recording two sacks, an interception and 36 tackles. He was a key cog in a defense that led the NFL in fewest rushing yards (81.5) allowed per game and fewest points (17.3) allowed per game.

Had a deal not been reached by Wednesday, Rubin would have become an unrestricted free agent.
