Greensboro, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Alexa Scimeca and Christopher Knierim captured their first pairs title at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships after increasing their lead in Saturday's free skate.

After setting a short program record with a score of 74.01 points on Thursday, the Colorado-based duo also received the top score in the free skate to finish with 210.49 points, 10.57 ahead of runners-up Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier.

Scimeca and Knierim were the silver medalists at the 2013 U.S. championships.

Tarah Kayne and Danny O'Shea vaulted from fourth to claim the bronze following Saturday's program. Two-time U.S. champion Marissa Castelli and new partner Mervin Tran had held third following the short program, but fell to sixth after placing just eighth in the free skate.
