Helsingborg, Sweden (SportsNetwork.com) - Dewi Claire Schreefel fired a final- round, 6-under 66 on Sunday and she cruised to a 7-shot victory at the Helsingborg Open.
Schreefel finished her week at Vasatorp Golf Club at 17-under 271, well ahead of second-place finisher Rebecca Artis. The win is Schreefel's first on the Ladies European Tour.
After beginning the day with three straight pars, Schreefel tripped to a bogey on the par-3 fourth. She rebounded quickly, however, as she rattled off three straight birdies from the fifth to get into red numbers at minus-2. Schreefel closed her front nine with a bogey on No. 9.
Schreefel's play on the back nine really separated her from the rest of the pack, making birdies on 10, 12, 14, 15 and 18 to finish off her 7-shot win.
Artis carded a 71 in the final round to finish in second place at 10-under 278, while Laura Davies (66) was right behind her at minus-9.
Valentine Derrey (70) ended 11 shots off the pace at 6-under 282. Felicity Johnson and Line Vedel shot 67 and 73 respectively to finish tied for fifth at 5-under 283.
