Gelsenkirchen, Germany – Schalke signed Greece center back Kyriakos Papadopoulos to a contract extension through the 2015-16 season on Thursday.
Papadopoulos, 20, joined Schalke in 2010 from Olympiacos and has played in 52 Bundesliga matches. He has also played 21 European matches, including eight in the Champions League.
He has four goals in 15 matches for Greece.
