Schalke has confirmed that forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has agreed to a two-year contract extension that ties the Dutchman to the club until 2015.

The 29-year-old has recently been linked with a number of clubs around Europe, but he has decided that his future lies in Gelsenkirchen.

"I've been thinking long and carefully about this decision," Huntelaar told the club's official website. "I feel good here and this is a positive sign that I believe in what we are doing here and I feel we can achieve a lot in the second half of the season."

Huntelaar joined Schalke in 2010 from AC Milan and has also enjoyed spells at Real Madrid and Ajax.

In 17 Bundesliga games this season Huntelaar has tallied five goals and assisted on two others.
