Gelsenkirchen, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Borussia Dortmund emerged from the latest installment of the Revierderby with maximum points as it claimed a 3-1 win over Schalke at the Veltins Arena on Saturday.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring in the 14th minute when he tucked home a cross from Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Schalke spurned a tremendous chance to draw level when Kevin-Prince Boateng failed to convert a penalty kick in the 30th minute, and Dortmund made the home side pay when Nuri Sahin fired home a square pass from Mkhitaryan in the 51st minute.

Maximilian Meyer cut Schalke's deficit in half when he swept home a rebound off of Adam Szalai's shot in the 62nd minute, but Jakub Blaszczykowski made sure of the three points by netting Dortmund's third goal 14 minutes later.

Dortmund keeps pace with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table after a brace from Mario Mandzukic and a goal from Mario Gotze granted Pep Guardiola's side a 3-2 victory over Hertha Berlin. Bayern leads the league on 26 points, followed closely by Dortmund on 25 points.

Bayer Leverkusen earned a 2-1 win over Augsburg on Saturday to stay level with Dortmund in the table. Andre Hahn had given Augsburg the lead, but goals from Simon Rolfes and Emre Can proved to be enough for Leverkusen in the end.

Elsewhere in Saturday's Bundesliga slate, Roberto Firmino bagged a brace in Hoffenheim's 4-1 win over nine-man Hannover, Shinji Okazaki scored both goals in Mainz's 2-0 defeat of Braunschweig and Wolfsburg cruised past Werder Bremen in a 3-0 victory.
