Jovonni Shuler scored 22 points to lead Savannah State to a 76-67 victory over Longwood on Saturday.

Shuler scored 11 points in the final 4:07 and the Tigers (4-17), who have won two straight games, shot 65 percent from the field (13 of 20) and 88.2 percent from the line (15 of 17) in the second half.

Savannah State trailed 40-34 at halftime, but began the second half on an 11-4 run for a 45-44 lead with 15:09 remaining.

The Tigers didn't take the lead for good until Shuler hit a jumper for a 62-60 advantage with 4:07 remaining and then added two free throws for a four-point lead.

Shuler's 3-pointer gave the Tigers a 69-62 lead with 1:37 to play.

Preston Blackmon and Cedric Smith scored 14 points each and Jyles Smith added 13 points for Savannah State.

Antwan Carter had 26 points and 10 rebounds and Aaron Mitchell had 13 points for Longwood (8-16).
