Genoa, Italy – Sampdoria have completed the signings of midfielder Birkir Bjarnason and striker Andrea Petagna from Pescara and AC Milan, respectively, the club confirmed on Monday.
Bjarnason, an Iceland international, featured 23 times during his spell at the Stadio Adriatico, scoring twice, but was unable to prevent a 20th-place finish which saw his side suffer relegation from the Italian top flight.
Petagna, an Under-19 international, progressed through the AC Milan youth system before making his debut last season. But he had only appeared in two matches thus far this campaign.
