Magdalena Rybarikova won the final six games of the first set and survived the second to upend Andrea Petkovic of Germany and capture the Citi Open tennis tournament for a second straight year.

Rybarikova, who was seeded seventh, overcame a slow start to earn a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) victory on the hardcourts at FitzGerald Tennis Center.

The 24-year-old Slovakian defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in last year's D.C. finale and collected $40,000 with her fourth career title on Sunday.

Petkovic watched a third career title slip through her fingers after sprinting out to a 4-0 lead. She rallied from two breaks down to even the second set at 5-5 but was no match for Rybarikova in the tiebreaker.
