Bad Griesbach, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Jake Roos birdied two of his final three holes and carded a final-round 70 to earn a 2-shot victory at the Aegean Airlines Challenge Tour.
Roos ended his week on Sunday at 13-under-par 275, two shots better than Jason Barnes. The win is Roos' second on tour this year, with his last one coming at The Barclays Kenya Open.
With his score at even-par for the day heading to the 16th hole at Hartl Resort, Roos needed to make something happen in order to take the tournament. He did just that with back-to-back birdies at 16 and 17 followed by a par at 18. Barnes also helped out with a bogey on No. 18.
Roos had a back-and-forth day. He played the first eight holes at 2-under par with birdies at three and eight, but bogeys at nine and 11 had Roos right back to even-par.
He got back into the red numbers with a birdie at 12, but he tripped up again at No. 13 to drop right back to even-par. Roos parred 14 and 15 before making his run on the next two holes.
Barnes (68) ended his week at 11-under 277, while Bernd Ritthammer, Allessandro Tadini and Chris Hanson finished tied for third at 10-under. Ritthammer had a strong day with a 7-under 65, which was the lowest score on the day. Tadini and Hanson carded a 72 and 73, respectively.
