Rome, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - The battle for second place in Serie A could be decided on Monday as rivals Roma and Lazio square off at the Stadio Olimpico in the penultimate round of the season.

Roma enters the contest one point clear of Lazio and can clinch second place with a win, while Lazio is looking to overtake their rivals with one match to play and put themselves in position to secure an automatic berth in the Champions League.

Lazio is hoping to overcome disappointment after losing 2-1 in extra time to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday, and the club could also be without the services of captain Stefan Radu, who limped off in the second half of Wednesday's match with a muscle injury.

Lazio snapped a run of one win in five games with a 1-0 triumph at Sampdoria last weekend, while Roma is aiming to win for the fourth time in five matches.

Champions Juventus are on course for the treble having already clinched the league and Coppa Italia titles, meaning Saturday's home contest with fourth- place Napoli will have little meaning for the Old Lady.

Juve will be more concerned with the Champions League final against Barcelona on June 6, but the match carries plenty of importance for Napoli.

The club enters the weekend three points back of third-place Lazio, and a win over Juventus could help them close in a Champions League berth with the two Rome rivals squaring off.

Making things even more interesting is the fact that Napoli will host Lazio on the final day of the season, which could determine the final Champions League berth in Serie A.

Fiorentina, Genoa and Sampdoria are still fighting for a spot in the Europa League and the Viola can just about wrap that up on Sunday with three points at mid-table Palermo.

Genoa is two points back of Fiorentina and the club hosts Inter Milan on Saturday in an effort to improve those prospects.

Sampdoria is also still in the mix but the club must win at Empoli on Sunday and get some help to be in position on the final day of the season next weekend.

Cagliari visits Cesena in a battle of relegated teams, last-place Parma hosts Hellas Verona, Atalanta takes on Chievo, Sassuolo travels to Udinese and AC Milan meets up with Torino.
