Rome, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Second-place Roma faces a difficult assignment at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday as the club attempts to keep pace with leaders Juventus by turning back AC Milan.

Juve was able to stretch its lead to four points on Thursday with a 3-1 win at Cagliari thanks to goals from Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal in the opening 15 minutes, while Fernando Llorente added a third goal early in the second half.

Roma must now beat Milan to continue its good run of form and stay within touching distance of Juventus, which is eyeing a fourth successive Scudetto this season.

The capital club has earned 13 of a possible 15 points from the past five games in Serie A, including a 1-0 win at Genoa last time out in a battle of top-three sides.

Manager Rudi Garcia was in the news this week after he was handed a two-match suspension for an altercation with a steward during Sunday's win over Genoa, although the boss has stated that he will fight the ban.

Milan's form has been much more inconsistent in recent weeks as the club has posted a 2-2-2 mark in its six most recent outings after losing just once in the first nine league fixtures.

The Rossoneri will be buoyed by their last result as Filippo Inzaghi's side notched a 2-0 win over Napoli, which moved Milan to within two points of a Champions League place.

Napoli won 2-0 over Parma on Thursday thanks to goals from Duvan Zapata and Dries Mertens in the opening 30 minutes, lifting the club into third place ahead of this weekend's fixtures.

Fourth-place Lazio is seeking a third successive Serie A victory on Sunday when the club travels to the San Siro to meet Inter Milan, which sits in a disappointing 11th place.

Sampdoria is just one point from a Champions League spot and the club is riding a six-game unbeaten streak ahead of its home contest with Udinese on Sunday, while Genoa is also level with Sampdoria on 26 points and will visit bottom-half side Torino.

Cesena sits in 19th place and is five points from safety ahead of its trip to Sassuolo, Hellas Verona and Chievo square off in the Verona derby, Atalanta hosts Palermo and Empoli hits the road to face Fiorentina.
