CHICAGO – Megan Rogowski and Megan Podkowa scored 17 points apiece as top-seeded DePaul beat No. 8 seed Georgetown in a Big East tournament quarterfinal matchup on Sunday.
Rogowski made three 3-pointers and Podkowa hit 5 of 8 shots for DePaul (25-6). Jessica January added 11 points.
Georgetown held an early 18-14 lead before DePaul went on an 11-0 run, seven by Podkowa, for a 25-18 lead. DePaul scored the final six points of the half to lead 33-22.
Then Rogowski started and capped a 10-0 run with 3-pointers for a 43-22 advantage and DePaul led by double-digits the entire second half.
Logan Battle paced Georgetown (11-21) with 20 points. Natalie Butler added eight points and 11 rebounds.
DePaul converted 24 of 24 free throws, while Georgetown hit just five of their 10 attempts.
The Blue Demons move on to face No. 5 seed Marquette on Monday.
