Justin Harper scored 20 points, including the go-ahead basket with 43.5 seconds remaining, as Richmond put away George Washington 69-65 on Wednesday night.

The Spiders (19-6, 8-2 Atlantic 10 Conference) closed the game on a 12-4 run. Harper accounted for six critical points during the stretch, none bigger than his spin move on the block for a layup that gave Richmond a 67-65 edge.

Tony Taylor dribbled the ball off his leg on the Colonials' next possession and the Spiders' Kevin Smith hit two free throws with 22.1 seconds left to close out the contest.

Richmond has won three straight and eight in a row on the road. Dan Geriot had 15 points and Kevin Smith added 14 points.

George Washington (12-12, 5-5), which has dropped six of seven, was led by Taylor and Nemanja Mikic's 15 points apiece.
