Will Mallard, a hauler driver for the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports car of NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Dakoda Armstrong, was involved in a traffic accident Wednesday morning in Louisiana en route to Texas Motor Speedway for Saturday's XFINITY Series race.
Mallard was not injured in the accident and was not issued a citation, according to a team release distributed by Richard Petty Motorsports on Wednesday afternoon.
It was unclear from the release if others were involved in the accident.
"All of our employees, but especially our transport drivers, value the safety of all motorists on the road," Brian Moffitt, RPM's chief executive officer, said in the release.
While the transporter suffered enough damage to warrant a replacement tractor, the team expects to arrive at Texas Motor Speedway in time for Friday's first on-track activities.
