Sam Richardson, heading into his third season as the starting quarterback, has been named a captain at Iowa State.
Richardson, broke the school record for completions in a season and completions in a game as well as throwing 18 touchdown passes last year, was voted by his teammates to be a captain.
Also, linebacker Levi Peters was named a captain after walking on to the team and earning a scholarship after two seasons with the team.
