Veracruz collected its first win since returning to the top flight as Angel Reyna scored a hat trick in a 4-2 win at Atlante.

After beginning the campaign with a draw in its first game since earning promotion, Veracruz went behind just two minutes into the match to a goal from Atlante's Angel Sepulveda.

But Reyna netted two goals before halftime to put Veracruz ahead 2-1 at the break.

Alberto Garcia leveled things in the 47th with a goal, but he was sent off only three minutes later, forcing Atlante to play the final 40 minutes with 10 men.

And Veracruz took advantage with goals from Christian Marrugo and another from Reyna in the final 30 minutes to wrap up all three points.

Leon collected its second win in as many games by downing Atlas, 2-1, behind goals from Mauro Boselli and Carlos Pena.

Joining Leon at the top of the league with six points from two games is Pachuca, which secured a 2-1 win over Tigres that saw Daniel Luduena score the winning goal in the 48th minute.

On Friday, Toluca overcame a hat trick from Morelia's Jefferson Montero to win 4-3 behind goals from Carlos Esquivel and Edy Brambila in the last 10 minutes, while Santos jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead against Cruz Azul before holding on for a 3-2 victory.

Dorlan Pabon scored deep into stoppage time to help Monterrey earn a 1-1 draw against Puebla, Jaguares had to settle for a point as Guadalajara got a goal from Angel Zaldivar in stoppage time for a 1-1 and the lone match on Sunday saw Wilberto Cosme net two goals in a 3-0 Queretaro victory at UNAM.
