Defending champions Tijuana sustained a second straight defeat over the weekend, losing 2-0 at Jaguares to a pair of second-half goals from Luis Rey.

The result drops Tijuana four points back of leaders Tigres, while Jaguares won for the first time this season after a six-game winless run to begin the campaign.

Edgar Castillo was sent off early in the second half for an infraction inside his own penalty area, allowing Rey to convert the subsequent spot kick in the 50th minute to put Jaguares in front.

Rey added another goal in the 63rd to put the result out of reach and take his goal tally to three on the season.

Tigres was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Santos, but remained one point clear of second-place America after the club had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Toluca following a stoppage-time equalizer from Toluca's Gerardo Rodriguez.

Atlas joined America in second place after claiming a 2-1 win over Monterrey as Omar Bravo scored the winning goal in the 55th minute, San Luis continued its struggles with a 2-0 defeat at Leon, which leaves the club on the bottom of the table with two points from seven contests.

Cristian Suarez tallied the winning goal in the 77th minute to lead Pachuca to a 2-1 victory over Cruz Azul, Puebla and Guadalajara traded second-half goals in a 1-1 draw, Atlante snatched a 1-1 draw with Queretaro after a stoppage- time equalizer from Israel Martinez and UNAM downed Morelia, 1-0, with Efrain Velarde netting the lone goal in the 65th minute.
