Will Tom Brady have his Deflategate suspension reduced?

According to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, it doesn't look good for the New England Patriots star quarterback.

According to Smith, one of the reasons is because Brady destroyed his cell phone.

This bit of news comes just a day after FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo reported that the NFL and the Players Association were working together to find a settlement of Brady's original four-game suspension. The latter appealed the penalty five weeks ago and has been waiting for the league to make its decision since.

While the NFL appeared willing to reduce the suspension, Brady's camp along with the union would only accept a fine. Any suspension will likely trigger a lawsuit from Brady and the NFLPA.

The New England Patriots are set to open training camp on Thursday.
