We knew Josh Norman would be meeting with the Redskins on Friday, and since the team appeared to be willing to meet the former Panther's contract demands, it was worth wondering whether or not a deal might get done with Washington the very same day.

But another team is reportedly very interested in Norman, as well.

Norman was unexpectedly cut loose by the Panthers earlier this week, when the team rescinded its franchise tag and made him an unrestricted free agent. Panthers GM Dave Gettleman said the reasoning behind the decision was that it was becoming increasingly clear that a deal to retain Norman was not going to get done.

The team wasn't interested in the one-year, $13.592 million contract that came with the franchise tag, and the sides weren't close on a longer-term deal that would have kept Norman in Carolina for the foreseeable future.
