Report: Brewers add SS Alex Gonzalez

Dallas, TX – The Milwaukee Brewers plan to sign shortstop year contract with a vesting option, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Gonzalez, who will be 35 in February, batted .241 with 15 homers and 56 RBI in 149 games for the Atlanta Braves last season.

In 1,535 career games with the Marlins, Red Sox, Reds, Blue Jays and Braves, Gonzalez has hit .247 with 152 homers and 665 RBI.

Yuniesky Betancourt was the Brewers' shortstop last season.
