Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III left Sunday's game against the Jaguars with an injury to his left ankle.

Griffin, who has a history of knee injuries, rolled to his right and threw across his body early in the first quarter. He released the ball just as he was jumping going out of bounds and appeared to suffer the injury when planting his left leg.

The pass was completed but Griffin stayed on the sideline face down in obvious pain. A slew of trainers came to his aid and placed an air cast on the lower half of his leg, and tears were in his eyes as he was carted to the locker room.

Kirk Cousins relieved Griffin and threw a touchdown pass on the same series.
