Red Sox place Atchison on DL

Tampa, FL – The Boston Red Sox placed pitcher Scott Atchison on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with right forearm tightness.

Atchison, 36, is 2-1 with a 1.76 ERA, which leads all Red Sox relievers, in 46 innings pitched this season.

To fill Atchison's spot on the roster, the Red Sox recalled right-handed pitcher Junichi Tazawa from Triple-A Pawtucket.
