The Boston Red Sox on Monday claimed pitcher Sandy Rosario off waivers from the Oakland Athletics.

Boston claimed Rosario off waivers from the Miami Marlins on Oct. 17 and then sent him to Oakland on Nov. 28 for a player to be named later.

The A's designated the 27-year-old right-hander for assignment two days later.

Rosario had appeared in 10 career games over the last three seasons for the Marlins, pitching to a 15.26 ERA in 7 2/3 innings of relief.
