The Boston Red Sox added newly acquired first baseman James Loney to the active roster on Sunday.

Loney was acquired in the nine-player blockbuster deal that sent Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and Josh Beckett to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.

Over 114 games for the Dodgers this season, Loney batted .254 with four homers and 33 RBI.

Boston also recalled pitcher Pedro Beato from Triple-A Pawtucket and optioned outfielder Che-Hsuan Lin to Pawtucket.
