Commerce City, CO – The Colorado Rapids extended their unbeaten streak to nine games on Saturday thanks to a 2-0 defeat of Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
The Rapids took the lead nine minutes before halftime when Deshorn Brown nodded home a cross to the back post played in by Vicente Sanchez.
Edson Buddle made sure of the three points in the 79th minute when his deflected shot made its way past David Ousted in the Vancouver net.
Colorado (10-7-6) improves to 39 points on the season to take sole possession of second place in the Western Conference, moving three points clear of Vancouver (10-8-6).
