Chennai, India – Canada's Milos Raonic rallied to beat top- opening Chennai Open.
Sunday's match lasted over three hours and featured three tiebreaks, with the fourth-seeded Raonic hitting 35 aces en route to a 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4) victory.
Tipsarevic and Raonic combined to save all 13 break point opportunities (9-4).
Raonic, the 2011 ATP Newcomer of the Year, appeared in his third career title match. He beat Fernando Verdasco for the San Jose crown last February, then followed up the next week with a loss to Andy Roddick in Memphis.
Tipsarevic fell to 2-6 all-time in ATP finals.
