The New York Rangers and Brian Boyle avoided arbitration by coming to terms on a three-year contract worth $5.1 million Thursday, according to the Bergen Record.

Boyle had a career-high 21 goals and 14 assists in 82 games last season, his second with the Rangers after playing parts of two seasons with the Los Angeles Kings. The 26-year-old Boyle had 218 shots last season after posting just 73 in 72 games in 2009-10.

The Rangers have just two more restricted free agents they need to sign -- forwards Ryan Callahan and Brandon Dubinsky.
