Steven Davis and Sone Aluko both scored 1 on Sunday at Caledonian Stadium for its first win since entering administration.

Just days after entering administration, Rangers slumped to a 1-0 home loss to Kilmarnock last weekend. With 10 points docked for entering administration the club's title hopes were crushed, and the loss compounded the woes.

Although Celtic is 20 points clear atop the standings, Rangers started the day with Motherwell just three points back in third place.

Rangers was in front after just 6 minutes, as Maurice Edu played Salim Kerkar, who then drove a low cross into the 6-yard box for Davis to finish from just a few yards out.

Aluko doubled the lead on 16 minutes when he turned a cross from Andrew Little inside the post, and Little added a third in the 35th when he converted from a tight angle.

Steve Williams pulled a goal back for Inverness before half, but Lee McCulloch erased all doubt in the 72nd when he pushed Rangers' lead back to three goals.

While Rangers solidified its hold on second place by opening a six-point edge, Inverness is 10th and just eight points off the foot of the table.
