Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Texas Rangers have reached a stadium naming rights agreement with Globe Life Accident and Insurance Company.
The building previously known as Rangers Ballpark in Arlington will become Globe Life Park. Financial terms of the 10-year agreement were not disclosed.
Based in McKinney, Texas, the insurance company has been in business since 1951.
"Globe Life is the perfect partner -- a Texas-based company that has been helping families with their insurance needs for more than 60 years," said Rangers co-chairmen Ray Davis and Bob Simpson in a release Wednesday.
"This agreement makes us a stronger organization -- on the field and in our community. It will give us increased flexibility and help us remain competitive from both short-term and long-term perspectives."
The stadium first opened in 1994 as The Ballpark in Arlington.
