Flushing Meadows, NY – The second day of fourth-round play in the men's draw at the 2011 U.S. Open is being delayed by rain.
Play was scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. local time, but steady rain prevented that from happening.
Matches between fourth-seeded Brit Andy Murray and unseeded American Donald Young and 12th-seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon and 28th-seeded American John Isner will not begin before 2:00 p.m. EDT at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Also on the Day-9 schedule are matches for second-seeded Rafael Nadal and American star Andy Roddick. The former world No. 1 and reigning U.S. and French Open champion Nadal is set to face unseeded Gilles Muller of Luxembourg, while a 21st-seeded Roddick will battle fifth-seeded Spaniard David Ferrer. Nadal beat Novak Djokovic in last year's finale in Flushing, while the former No. 1 Roddick captured his lone Grand Slam title here in the Big Apple in 2003.
