Jack Del Rio opted to hand the ball off to Roy Helu on a crucial third down play.
The head coach says he'd make the same call again -- but only if his team would block Bears' linebacker Pernell McPhee.
"It was definitely there, if we executed the play," Del Rio told Jerry McDonald of Bay Area News Group. "But you have to give (McPhee) credit. He's a game-wrecker kind of guy. He ended up spoiling that play."
McPhee absolutely stood up Raiders rookie Clive Walford from the outside. Then, he darted in to tackle Helu for a loss.
It ended up costing Del Rio's team dearly. Too much time was left on the clock after Sebastian Janikowski kicked a field goal to make it 20-19.
In a perfect world, McPhee never slices through the Raiders line and Del Rio milks the clock. Or, the Raiders put the game away and score a touchdown.
"One or the other would have been nice," Del Rio said.
