A hand injury to Hasim Rahman has caused the cancellation of his July 14 title fight with WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin.

The fight was to have been held in Hamburg, Germany, but now Povetkin could fight someone else instead of Rahman, who was the mandatory challenger.

Povetkin (24-0, 16 KOs) is coming off a majority decision win over Marco Huck in February.

Rahman (50-7-2, 41 KOs) has won his last five fights since being a technical knockout victim to Wladimir Klitschko in a heavyweight title fight in December 2008.
