Juan Quiros birdied the second playoff hole Saturday to defeat Des Smyth and win the Cannes Mougins Masters, his first European Senior Tour win in three years.

Both players had good looks at birdie on the first playoff hole at Cannes Mougins. Smyth missed a 10-footer, then Quiros pushed his try from half that distance.

It was back to 18 and, once again, both golfers hit great second shots. Smyth left himself six feet, but his putt stayed above ground. Quiros converted his four-footer to get his fourth European Senior Tour victory.

Quiros posted a three-under 69 on Saturday, while Smyth fired a five-under 67. The pair finished regulation knotted at 10-under 206.

Bruce Vaughan shot a two-under 70 and came in third at minus-nine.

Order of Merit leader Peter Fowler (65), Angel Franco (69) and Marc Farry (72) shared fourth at eight-under 208.

Second-round leader Mike Harwood struggled to a three-over 75 and tied for seventh with Rodger Davis (70) and Horacio Carbonetti (73) at seven-under-par 209.
