Safety Quentin Demps is back with Houston Texans after signing with the team on Wednesday and pleased to return to a defensive scheme he believes fits better with his skillset.

"I'm a 3-4 safety," Demps, said, per the Houston Chronicle. "I like this system. It's just a better fit for me."

The 30-year-old Demps, who had four interceptions with the New York Giants last season, said he never felt totally comfortable in New York's defense. The veteran made his presence felt quickly with the Texans, picking off a pass in Wednesday's practice.

Demps played three years with Texans in his first stint with the team from 2010-12 before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs as free agent in 2013. He was a part of two playoff teams with the Texans, both of which won wildcard games against the Cincinnati Bengals.

"That first Cincinnati (playoff) game is my best memory of Houston," said Demps. "It was great to be a part of that."
