Promoted QPR signed Brazilian defender Bruno Perone on Thursday, just days after its English Premier League opener.

Perone, 24, signed a one-year deal with the London club pending international clearance. Also capable of playing in midfield, Perone was on trial with the club for the last month before signing the deal.

"Bruno has fitted in very well in the time he has been with us," QPR boss Neil Warnock told the club's website. "He did well during preseason.

"He has still got lots to learn but when the time comes I am sure we will be able to put him in the team with confidence."

Perone will join fellow signees Jay Bothroyd, Kieron Dyer, Danny Gabbidon, D.J. Campbell and Brian Murphy at Loftus Road.

QPR hosts Bolton on Saturday in its season opener.
