Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Starting Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov has been arrested on domestic violence-related charges, according to police.

The Denver Police Department said Varlamov turned himself in Wednesday.

He was arrested on second-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault charges stemming from an incident on Tuesday, the Denver Post reported.

The Avalanche said in a statement they are aware of the allegations against Varlamov but won't have any further comment until the investigation is over.

Varlamov, 25, is in his sixth NHL season and third with the Avalanche. He has gone 7-1 this season during the team's 10-1-0 start.
