(SportsNetwork.com) - The Dallas Mavericks go for their seventh win in a row Wednesday when they host the Detroit Pistons at American Airlines Center.
The Mavericks have won three in a row at home and are 13-5 in Big D.
Dallas is coming off a perfect three-game road trip and recorded a 96-88 overtime victory against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. Monta Ellis scored 19 points, Dirk Nowitzki posted 15 and Tyson Chandler finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Mavs, who had a 14-6 scoring advantage in overtime.
Nowitzki buried a big 3-pointer with 34 seconds to go in OT and passed Moses Malone (27,409) for seventh place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.
"I'm proud of it but more proud that we got the win," Nowitzki said.
Rajon Rondo scored just two points, but had 14 assists and 10 rebounds. Dallas had a 41-11 scoring advantage from its bench and improved to 16-3 against Eastern Conference opponents.
The Mavs have won nine of the past 11 games and are averaging 108.7 ppg during the current unbeaten streak. After hosting the Pistons, the Mavericks will play three straight on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers, Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets.
Dallas leads the NBA with 109.5 ppg and is second in field goal percentage (47.7).
Meanwhile, the Pistons have won all six games since saying goodbye to Josh Smith and pulled off a 105-104 victory in San Antonio Tuesday night.
Tim Duncan's inbound pass to Patty Mills with eight seconds left in the game was off the mark and Brandon Jennings took it the other way for the game- winning basket. Jennings redeemed himself from a missed layup and finished with 13 points.
Andre Drummond had 20 points and 17 rebounds, Greg Monroe added 17 points and 11 boards and D.J. Augustin added 19 off the bench for Detroit.
"Just a great team win. We showed a lot of resiliency," said Monroe. "Everybody stayed the course. We stuck together, came in and beat a really good team."
The Pistons, who had lost four in a row in the Alamo City, have won four straight on the road and will play back-to-back home games versus Atlanta and Brooklyn next.
Detroit suffered a 117-106 loss to Dallas on Dec. 17. Drummond paced the hosts with 19 points and 24 rebounds, while Chandler Parsons and Ellis scored 32 and 25 points, respectively, for Dallas.
Dallas has won six straight and 11 of the last 12 against the Pistons, who have lost their last six trips to Big D.
