Phillies C Schneider on DL with hamstring injury

Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Phillies placed catcher Brian Schneider on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring on Friday.

Schneider, who missed time in June and July with a right ankle injury, is hitting .225 with two home runs and seven RBI in 34 games this season.

The Phillies selected the contract of catcher Steven Lerud from Double-A Reading. The 27-year-old Lerud hit .235 with seven RBI in 35 games with Reading.
