Pens sign Tangradi, three others

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Eric Tangradi to a two-way contract for the 2012-13 season.

Tangradi, who will earn $726,000 at the NHL level, appeared in 24 games for the Penguins last season. He picked up a pair of assists with 16 penalty minutes.

The 23-year-old Philadelphia native was acquired from Anaheim in a February 2009 trade. He has played 40 NHL games for the Penguins over the past three seasons, notching a goal and five points.

Pittsburgh also inked defensemen Brian Strait, Robert Bortuzzo and Alex Grant to one-year, two-way contracts.

Strait had one assist in nine games for the Penguins last season, while Bortuzzo made his NHL debut last November and appeared in six games. Grant has yet to play an NHL game.
