The Pittsburgh Penguins aren't getting ahead of themselves after dispatching the New York Islanders in Game 1 of their playoff series Wednesday.

Pittsburgh rolled to a 5-0 victory despite playing without star Sidney Crosby, who remains out with a broken jaw. The victory was the Penguins' fifth straight over the Islanders this season and second consecutive shutout.

Pittsburgh harassed New York center John Tavares, holding the league's third-leading goal scorer without a shot for the first time this season. Tavares says he expected the Penguins to focus on him but needs to do a better job of not letting it affect his play.

The Islanders know they need to improve during Game 2 on Friday night or their first trip to the playoffs since 2007 will be a short one.
