The Pittsburgh Penguins have activated Kris Letang from injured reserve, with the standout defenseman slated to play in Tuesday's home game against the Montreal Canadiens.

Letang had missed Pittsburgh's last three contests with a lower-body injury sustained during a win over Boston on Mar. 17.

To make room on the active roster, the Penguins reassigned defenseman Simon Despres to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. The rookie has totaled two goals, five assists and a plus-10 rating over 24 games with Pittsburgh this season.

The Eastern Conference-leading Penguins will take a 12-game winning streak into Tuesday's clash with Montreal, currently tied with Boston atop the Northeast Division.
