Foxboro, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - New England Patriots right offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a broken bone in his right leg.

The 29-year old Vollmer suffered the injury early in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Houston product has dealt with injuries for much of his five-year career. Back troubles limited Vollmer to just six games in 2011, and he missed two games with a head injury during his rookie season in 2009.

During the one season (2010) he played and started all 16 games, Vollmer was named a second team All-Pro.

The Patriots filled Vollmer's roster spot with Tuesday's acquisition of defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga in a trade with Philadelphia.
